Reported today in the Globe and Mail:
Hospital discovers second apparent case of mistaken mastectomy.
So.
Fresh off of the debacle of the waste of $1 Billion in the now infamous "eHealth scandal" where the Liberal government of Ontario basically threw away a billion dollars in health care funds, we now see that controls in health care under the "kinder, gentler" Liberal government of Dalton McGuinty is just as pathetic.
Kind of makes me feel glad I'm in Alberta.
Again.

Hey!
Don't knock Ontario, we can do that ourselves quite nicely, thank you very much.
Thank you for sending more money from Alberta so we can buy shiny propellers, pay 25% for our hydro to feel good about going green.
South Korea owes Albertans a big thanks for paying Ontario's going green projects. Thank you for allowing our deadbeat provincial, municipal governments to run deficits and mock the Billions being transferred from Alberta's oilsands.
(Do you think Liberals have any problem looking in the mirror?)
A great link to understanding our greatest challenge with Canadian healthcare.
Mistakes can happen, and they happen in the US too (ask Dennis Quaid about his babies), but it should NOT happen anywhere! We are supposed to be more stream-lined now, computers instead of hand-scribbling on paper, etc yet mistakes are still happening that are unbelievable. Human error cannot ever be totally eradicated, but come on! I cannot imagine what those women must have felt like, waking up to find they had a breast(s) removed. It is traumatizing enough when you HAVE to have it done, let alone by 'mistake'.
So I'm guessing that Alberta will be going it alone for the environmental cost of the Tar Sands cleanup, right?
Cherney,
AB taxpayers have been funding the socialist projects for the EAST for decades.
It is time for Toronto and Montreal voters to turn to their own province for their new plushy social justice funding projects.
Toronto, Montreal elitists will get the next smackdown at the ballot box.
So NeoConservative, you are saying that Dr. Roy is an idiot?
There can only be one in our hearts, and that space is reserved for your Cherub!
Kind of makes me feel glad I'm in Alberta.
Again.
You mean you waver? I'm consistently glad you're in Alberta.
...;)
Seriously, the mastectomy problem isn't related to the EHealth scandal, which is a *real* scandal, although not as political as you might think. It basically boils down to the problems of outsourcing and the amorality/ethical vacuity of consultants. All governments since the early 90's have been complicit in this.
