William Jefferson Clinton.. my mentor.
Recall this, back in June of 2008:
"A senior adviser to Obama's campaign told reporters it's an "open question" whether oil produced from northern Alberta's oilsands fits with the Democratic candidate's plan to shift the U.S. sharply away from consumption of carbon-intensive fossil fuels. Now, today, from The Times:
"If it turns out that those technologies don't advance . . . and the only way to produce those resources would be at a significant penalty to climate change, then we don't believe that those resources are going to be part of the long-term, are going to play a growing role in the long-term future," said Jason Grumet, Obama's senior energy adviser."
Drill baby, drill: Obama opens up America’s coasts to oil companies
President Obama took a gamble with the environment and his political base yesterday, opening up 167 million acres (67 million hectares) of coastal waters to oil drilling, in an attempt to limit America’s dependence on foreign energy and to win Republican backing for a stalled climate change Bill.
In a reversal of policies that have protected American shorelines since the Exxon Valdez disaster in 1989, Mr Obama paved the way for a new energy rush off the US Atlantic and Gulf coasts by allowing exploratory drilling for trillions of cubic feet of natural gas and oil reserves that could exceed eight billion barrels.

The federal Conservatives are giving Environment Minister Jim Prentice clear legal authority to avoid ordering full assessments of environmentally controversial projects, such as major mines and oil sands operations, according to a provision contained in the bill implementing details of the government’s new budget.

But that's different, right? Because it always is...
Flashback..Canadian oil sands 1970's Trudeau called on the oil companies then pulled the National energy program on them, after the construction was begun of coarse,Alberta collapsed and Canada's recession became a 40 yr depression we never really got out of until 2000. Maybe we can send those environmentalists to China to protest after we export our product.
It is funny watching the left twist themelves into knots.
OBAMA kills funding abortions executive order and now pushes dirty oil.
What shock a politician flip flopping!
It is too late to "short" those Carbon Credits certificates?
CWTF.. ok, I'll bite:
First.. no response, I suppose, tacitly means you agree that Obama's shtick is more "same-old, same-old" in American politics..
Secondly.. the Conservative government hardly shook it's hypocritical finger at other countries' environmental policies and hardly campaigned as some "defender of the environment". Their actions, while perhaps objectionable to some, are at least consistent.. (not to say that I don't reserve my own complaints about occasional Conservative hypocricy - see Crime Legislation v. Gun Registry);
Thirdly, and most glaringly obvious.. where the freak were the Liberals, the guardians of the environment? Well, read the article - once again, they chose to display their principles by... NOT SHOWING UP.
Look.
I'm not overly impressed by anyone right now.. but if Barak Obama is going to campaign base upon some moral high ground, well, he had best be ready to be pilloried when he shows himself to be a fake.
