What's that you said, son?
Cowboy boots from... Quebec?
Cowboy boots from... Quebec?
So.
A swell-timer from Toronto walks into a Calgary Stampede breakfast, and shows off his cowboy boots made in Quebec and loudly exclaims.. "There are the best made boots in Canada."
A joke.?
Well.. yeah.
You see.. the dumbass Michael Ignatieff was a stone's throw from the Alberta Boot Company.
A Calgary business for over 30 years, making what I'm sure they would argue are "the best made boots in Canada."
But, whether they are or not, the point is, Michael, you don't engratiate yourself with an already unfriendly crowd, by coming into their house and pissing in their punch bowl.
Just sayin' pardner.

From JIm, one of the callers to Rutherford:
"I don't know who these people are who invited Ignatieff to the Stampede. They should be charged with importing a banned susbstance ! ...
And Ignatieff, I hope all those babies he's kissing down there, I hope the mothers take them to the doctor's and give them a tetanus shot"
They should be charged with importing a banned susbstance ! ...
That's priceless!!
Another good one at SDA - "Next he'll be telling us that some of his best friends are Canadian. "
Then, of course, there is this career politician urban dumbass trying connect with/suck up to Calgarians.
I think I'll buy some boots.
...Maybe I could introduce them to Ted Betts if he ever comes out of his cooled cube in the Big Smoke.
Perhaps he was thinking of Nancy Sinatra
How much money has been spent in providing Iggy with safe talking points?
Paging Peter Donolo, is it too late for a refund?
Once again, Bertie, attacking those you disagree with with insults instead of addressing a single point.
The reason I would choose to comment on Rob's blog is because he, unlike you, supports a free and open and civil discussion of ideas. He'd be the first one to admit that he is both a partisan and doesn't have all the answers. Thus an open comments policy.
If you don't like facts getting in the way of your blind beliefs and ideology, no one is forcing you to stay or to keep coming back here or, for that matter, to cyber stalk me.
You may go. Next.
Well I like that pic of PMSH doing his John Wayne impression Ted!!
Forget the boots; he served SCRAMBLED EGGS!!

You've never demonstrated the maturity level necessary for a civil discussion, Ted...at least not anywhere I've seen you post.
(perhaps you could point me to one and prove me wrong?)

Oh, now you're just making me laugh. You...and facts?
You may go. Next.
More hilarity from Mr. Civil Discussion. The only person who will be going anywhere is you, Ted...with your tail between your legs, as is so often the case..
Rob:
I must apologize to you. It seems like I have some cyberstalking trolls who follow me around and poison any discussion thread I comment on.
They obviously have a big obsessive crush on me. I don't blame them for that so much, but it certainly is like the crazed fan or obsessive stalker who can't see reality and thinks everything is about them, makes things up to support their fantasies. It's as if some people think that, the bigger the a*&ho%e they are, the more they are irrefutably right. But notice how here (or anywhere else they stalk me) they never ever address facts and only the person. Telling, isn't it?
Again, I apologize for being indirectly responsible bringing such muck onto your fine site. We parry much, Rob, but I do respect the independence of your thinking and your good habit, unlike some, of debating the issues instead throwing insults around and attacking the person.

Hey - the market of free ideas is what makes for a democracy, and the free ideas isn't always going to be pleasant.

"Debating the issues"? You? Since when?
Here's how you started this particular "debate", Ted:

Boy, I'm sure glad you didn't start off by "throwing insults around and attacking the person".
