Well.
Yet more ignorant and misguided Canadians are trying to help the cause of terrorism in the middle east by manning a flotilla seeking to breach the Israeli enforced naval blockade of Gaza.
But, oddly enough, this time they are a little more honest in their motivations.
Not humanitarian at all.
You see -as reported in the Montreal Gazette today, after they were stopped in port by the Greek government, they were told that they would not be permitted to travel to Gaza in contravention of the Israeli blockade, preventing continued shipment of arms into Gaza.
However - the Greek government contacted the Palestinian authority and advised they would facilitate the transport of the humanitarian supplies through proper channels with the assistance of the United Nations.
Abbas, reportedly, responded positively to the proposal.
Problem solved - no?
No.
In response, Ehab Lotayef, from Montreal, advised that the offer was not acceptable - "In the end, we want the blockade to come down," said Lotayef. "We appreciate the offer of humanitarian aid but that is just a temporary solution to a very serious problem. The goal of the flotilla is to provide humanitarian aid, but also to protest the injustice of the blockade."
Translated: The claim of the flotilla being necessary to alleviate suffering is a sham. It's not about providing aid - it's about opposing Israel. About supporting Hamas. And - thus, facilitating transport of weapons to Hamas.
30 of the 50 people aboard the flotilla, are from Canada. Or are at least "Canadians of convenience" (i.e. see "Khadr family").
The speaker referred to above, Ehab Lotayef, is a very shrewd spokesman on behalf of the Palestinian Muslim community.
He knows full well that if he comes out and advocates assisting in the terrorist effort, he will be vilified and the throngs of ignorant Canadian do-gooders will suddenly find newer and better ways to throw away their donations.
However - if one reads between the lines, one learns a little more of Ehab's nature.
Barbara Kay knows what I'm talking about.
After a so-called "honor killing" in Montreal, Lotayef was speaking for his community again there.
The problem?
Well, you see, while Lotayef gave some lip service to the effort to respond to these violent acts in the Muslim community, at the end of the day, the real problem, as always, is Israel.
You heard me.

The terrorists and the murderer committed their atrocious acts because Canadian society let them down. His words - not mine.
Barbara Kay called him out in her editorial piece in the National Post - pointing out that there is no excuse for murder and terrorism within our borders - and suggesting that WE need to be more tollerant of the sort of "culture" that condones terrorism as a tool of political discourse is just unacceptable in our Canada.
So - as Ehab Lotayef speaks on the "humanitarian" flottilla, even as he refuses assistance to assure that aid gets to Ghaza - consider Barbar Kay's thoughts on this man and his ilk. The true threat of terrorism is, perhaps, in the soft-spoken dialogue that seeks to make the act of the terrorist acceptable. That seeks to give the terrorst refuge and aid.
The next master-mind of the terrorist effort will not be a crazed zealot like Osama Bin Laden. It might just be someone much less obvious - and, thus, more dangerous.

I wonder if we will ever see elected politicians who have the balls to simply deport the extremists in immigrant communities.
The overall IC doesn't want them, and they make life miserable for their fellow Muslims,Sikhs,Tamils,etc., but politicians are SO terrified of insulting a voting block,they'll sit by and make statements,"it's unacceptable",then leave the situation as it stands.
The ultimate tool of dissuasion is deportation,and it should be exercised whenever an extremist exposes his real personality.
We Canadians owe nothing to criminals,and that's all these guys are,criminals.
dmorris there is no point in hoping Harper and his party will have the balls they are all a bunch of left wing cowards. In fact now they are out of the country if Harper had balls he would cancel all their passports. Mind you when Harpers communist internet censorship law is passed we will no be able to post comments like this.
Just heard a report from a reporter aboard the cdn ship of fools. They are not sinking, but there is no power, no generators working etc. Some of the passengers are trying to sleep, (it was 3a.m. there) They can't disembark as they don't know what will happen to them. The ship will not sail. Poor babies, are calling on our govt to help them.
Let them stay there till they run out of food and other necessities of life, then arrest them as they leave the ship, and finally, cancel their passports.
That means the air-con won't work and the toilets probably won't flush. Down where they are it will not be nice. So bloody good luck to the idiots. Harper you do not use taxpayers money to get them back.
